An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Respiratory Scientist with a strong interest in respiratory physiology and commitment to high quality respiratory measurement to join the team at RespACT in our nation’s capital Canberra, ACT.
RespACT is a well established private Canberra based multi-centre lung function laboratory. Hours Per Week: minimum 38hrs/week

Remuneration: Dependent upon experience

Position: Senior Respiratory Scientist

Qualifications: (Required) BSc, BappSc or Equivalent
1. 3-years minimum experience in Respiratory Science/Physiology. Preference given to previous Senior Respiratory Scientist position. CRFS highly recommended. Member of ANZSRS/TSANZ

Immediate Supervisor: Directors of RespACT
Responsible to: Directors of RespACT

Responsibilities and duties include:
Overall running and day to day operation of 3 sites
Daily operation including staff rostering, approval of leave and timesheets. Liaising with Third party billing. Ordering of supplies and ensuring supply levels are kept at all sites. liaising with suppliers. Staff training and ensuring competency standards are met. Liaising with administration staff to ensure smooth booking and billing of patient tests.

* Conduct complex lung function- spirometry, gas transfer, static lung volumes, FeNO, respiratory muscle strength testing, bronchial provocation tests and 6 minute walk tests and oximetry screening.
* Computer and administration skills including patient booking and taking payments on day of testing. (our practice uses Gentu Medical software)
* Quality assurance including calibration and equipment maintenance
* Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment whilst working independently to deliver results within specified timeframes set to meet client expectations.

Mandatory requirements:
Current experience as a Respiratory Scientist
Completed undergraduate/postgraduate degree in science with a strong component in human and/or respiratory physiology
* Prior experience in respiratory diagnostics
* Current certification in CPR/advanced first aid
* Working with children/vulnerable people certificate
