Sydney Respiratory Specialists Clinic at Wahroonga is a boutique specialist practice located opposite the SAN Hospital, providing comprehensive respiratory and sleep care to our local community. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Respiratory Scientist to join our team on a part-time basis to cover maternity leave of 9 months- starting from 28th feb 2026.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Primary Responsibilities
• Perform routine lung function testing on patients attending the clinic
• Apply scientific expertise to ensure consistently accurate and reliable measurements
• Deliver a high standard of patient-centred care
• Participate in laboratory quality assurance programs
• Work independently and collaboratively within our group and with our senior scientist who can always provide guidence.

Detailed Summary of Duties
• Calibration and preparation of respiratory testing equipment
• Working in accordance with laboratory procedures and international guidelines
• Performing respiratory function tests including spirometry, DLCO, lung volumes, MIPs/MEPs, FeNO.

• Achieving accurate, reliable, and repeatable test results
• Analysing, calculating, and presenting results for reporting
• Adhering to cleaning and infection control protocols
• General administrative duties related to laboratory operations

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA
• Tertiary qualification (Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Applied Science, or equivalent)
• Experience in respiratory function testing
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment
• High level of attention to detail

EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
• Part-time: 8-hours per week
• Remuneration: $40–45 per hour (commensurate with experience)
