Respiratory & Sleep Scientist
Full-Time or Part-Time | Rockhampton, QLD
$32–$45/hr (depending on experience)
We are a well-established Respiratory & Sleep Laboratory in Rockhampton, led by a local respiratory physician and providing high-quality lung function testing and home-based sleep studies. Role Responsibilities
Primary Tasks
● Perform lung function tests (spirometry, mannitol challenge, 6MWT, ECGs, etc.)
● Set up, download, and analyse home sleep studies using Nox A1
● Ensure accurate, reliable, and high-quality measurements
● Provide a calm and professional patient experience
● Participate in the lab’s quality assurance program
● Work both independently and collaboratively within set timeframes

Detailed Duties
● Calibrate and maintain respiratory testing equipment
● Follow laboratory procedures and relevant international guidelines
● Conduct tests including DLCO, lung volumes, MIPs/MEPs, FOT, FeNO, CPET
● Analyse results and prepare data for clinical reporting
● Adhere to infection control and cleaning protocols
● Manage consumables and general administrative tasks

What We’re Looking For
Essential
● Tertiary qualifications (BSc, BAppSc, or equivalent)
● Strong written and verbal communication skills
● Ability to work effectively within a small team
● High attention to detail

Preferable
● Experience using Nox, Breeze, or Respiro software
● Previous experience with lung function testing or sleep study setup
● Experience in respiratory function testing
