Remuneration: $50– $65 per hour

Role:
We are seeking a Senior Sleep and Respiratory Scientist – (Sleep and Lung Function Laboratory) to join Respirologist Group (Mater Medical Centre, South Brisbane) where we focus on providing timely and quality care to patients. You will be working closely with a team of scientists, administration and doctors.

This is a full-time permanent role that will involve working during our standard business hours Monday through Friday, to provide support for our fully NATA accredited labs located at the Mater Private Hospital, South Brisbane.

Day to Day responsibilities include:

– Undertake routine and complex respiratory function testing, FeNO, 6MWT’s and CPET testing

– Ensure the lung function equipment is appropriately calibrated and maintained and that calibration and maintenance logs are kept

– Regular participation in quality assurance and audits

– Ensure the sleep laboratory equipment is calibrated according to manufacturers standards

– Troubleshoot technical problems with sleep lab and associated equipment

– Set up, conduct and download ambulatory sleep studies as required

– Participation in QSleep

– Scientifically score polysomnograms according to AASM rules and local developed policies

– Setup and supply positive airway pressure devices and associated accessories per specialist

– Assess the efficacy of positive airway pressure devices as required

 

Selection Criteria:

– Tertiary degree in Science (or equivalent) which includes a physiology component

– 5+ years vocational experience

– While not mandatory, Membership and participation in relevant professional societies will be highly regarded, e.g., ANZSRS, ANZSSA or ACCP.

– While not mandatory RPSGT and CRFS, or working toward these qualifications highly regarded
