Join the dynamic Respiratory Function Laboratories (RFL) team at the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network (SALHN), the primary respiratory care provider for southern South Australia.

 

Our comprehensive range of respiratory function tests supports exceptional patient outcomes across two state-of-the-art units at Flinders Medical Centre and Noarlunga GP Plus Super Clinic. As a Respiratory Scientist, you’ll collaborate with a multi-disciplinary healthcare team to deliver quality diagnostic services, leveraging your expertise to ensure patient testing meets the highest standards while driving continuous improvement through quality assurance and research initiatives.

 

 

About the role: 

Reporting to the Senior Respiratory Scientist and the Principal Respiratory Scientist, some of your duties may involve:

 

Performing high-quality diagnostic measurements that meet recognised national and international standards.

 

Operating computer-based testing equipment according to established procedures. 

 

Maintaining professional development consistent with registration requirements for the Australian Council for Clinical Physiologists.

 

About you

Bachelor of Health Science, Applied Science or an equivalent qualification. 

 

Clinical measurements experience. 

 

Demonstrated high level of interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills. 

 

Commitment to the quality of services provided. 

 

Demonstrated thoroughness and attention to details. 

 

Demonstrated ability to plan and organise work to meet deadlines and achieve set goals.

NSW, Liverpool, Sydney - Respiratory Scientist, Part-time, Ongoing. Closes 13.4.25

NSW – Respiratory Scientist, Part-time, Ongoing, Liverpool, Sydney

 

Close date: 13th April 2025

 

FTE: Part-time 1 day a week – Wednesday (permanent) and casual cover on Tuesday and Thursday as needed.

 

We are a friendly, private Respiratory and Sleep practice located in Liverpool, NSW.

 

Free on-site staff parking

 

The role:

Conduct complex lung function- spirometry, gas transfer, static lung volumes, respiratory muscle strength testing, altitude simulation and bronchial provocation tests.

 

Set up and download home ambulatory sleep studies.

 

Maintain quality assurance practices including calibration and maintenance of equipment.

 

Liaise closely with the Practice Manager and Physician to ensure smooth operation of the lab.

 

About you:

Tertiary qualifications in science, health, medicine or relevant experience in a similar role.

 

Previous experience conducting complex lung function testing and home based sleep study set up is highly desirable. Sleep study training can be provided to the successful candidate.

 

We are looking for a reliable team member who demonstrates respect, effective communication, excellent time management, teamwork, and high performance.

 

Remuneration is based on experience.
