Awards

ANZSRS has a number of awards available to recognise and acknowledge contributions of members and non-members to the progress of respiratory science and to progress of ANZSRS. These awards include:

  • ASM Awards
    • ANZSRS presents a number of awards at the Annual Scientific Meeting to recognise members’ contributions to furthering respiratory science through research.
  • ANZSRS Fellow and Society Research Medal
    •  A prestigious award presented to members who have made exceptional contributions to the advancement of knowledge in the field of respiratory science.
  • Life Membership
    • Recognises a member who has contributed in a major way to the development, promotion and running of the Society. The focus of this award is SERVICE TO ANZSRS.
  • ANZSRS Honorary Members
    • Recognises an individual who is not a member, but who has made an outstanding contribution to respiratory science and/or to ANZSRS.

We acknowledge Māori as tangata whenua who have long served as the traditional custodians of the lands and waters throughout Aotearoa. We recognise that Māori health requires a holistic approach that considers physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing, and furthermore, that these are contingent upon meaningful connection to the Māori world, in particular, to the language and customs, culture, lands, whānau, hapū and iwi.
