MEMBER CONTENT
The Case of the Month is an opportunity for learning and discussion, based on clinical cases from member contributors around Australia and New Zealand.
Originally, the Case of the Month was conceived as an opportunity for clinicians and scientists to work together to provide some clinical context to the work that clinical respiratory scientists do. Often, the case would be presented as lung function data with some clinical background initially and a month later, a clinical perspective would be posted to put the physiology into clinical context and to provide some insight into ongoing management. Much of the initial work in getting the concept up and running was due to the work of Christine Nathan (WA).
While the style of the presentation has changed somewhat over time, the Case of the Month series continues to provide important opportunities for learning for the membership.
Contributions for Case of the Month come from the regions as per the roster below. The Regional Chair is responsible for assigning a laboratory to provide the case for their rostered month and sending the case to the webmasters for posting.
See below the submissions received for the current year. Previous years can be found below the table.

We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of lands, seas and waters throughout Australia, and pay respect to Elders past, present and future. We recognise that health and social and emotional well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples are grounded in continuous connection to culture, country, language and community.
We acknowledge Māori as tangata whenua who have long served as the traditional custodians of the lands and waters throughout Aotearoa. We recognise that Māori health requires a holistic approach that considers physical, mental, emotional, social and spiritual wellbeing, and furthermore, that these are contingent upon meaningful connection to the Māori world, in particular, to the language and customs, culture, lands, whānau, hapū and iwi.
